Sife Aviation's earplugs, which are used in conjunction with headsets such as Telex and David Clark, are designed to reduce incoming noise effectively while allowing conversation with fellow passengers by opening one side of the headset depending on the left-right seating arrangement in the cockpit. It is a passive noise-canceling earplug.
